TUTORIAL: How to control power to high power devices using Arduino (Using a transistor)

What if you need to power something with a higher voltage or something which takes more current? Here's how - Use a transistor! You will need to check the maximum current allowed by your transistor! Emitter - Connect to the black return wire of the circuit which you want to power. Collector - Connect to the black return wire of the circuit which you want to power. Base - Connect to a digital out pin on the Arduino. NOTE: The base pin and Arduino should really have a resistor in between them.
